About Us
Our Story
Women of War was birthed in 2020 during COVID. At the height of COVID when most churches were closing their doors and the world was in chaos and despair, the Lord asked Penelope Clardy to open her home. He told her that if she would do this, He would fill it with women. The word came at a time when the thought of opening her home to a women's group was the furthest thing from Penelope's mind. Still, though it was not Penelope's desire at the time, she chose to walk out in faith and obedience and began hosting a weekly women's meeting.
In 2021 Penelope laid Women of War down for a season. When the Lord released her to pick it back up in 2022, He also sent her help, which she'd been needing and praying for. He brought her sisters in Christ who believed in the vision the Lord had given her. These divine connections help to form not only a strong and close-knit team but a strong and close-knit family.
A few years later, even as the group was growing, the Lord again gave Penelope another word and vision. He showed her a map of the United States, in which Tennessee was highlighted. She saw other Women of War meetings being held all across Tennessee and heard the call to go out and make disciples. To train other women to host Women of War communities in their own homes.
Since then, Women of War has grown exponentially and become a mobile team that meets in various homes around Tennessee. All thanks to the mercy and grace of God. The vision for Women of War is to host and be driven by the presence of the Lord. To see the things of heaven manifested on earth. And to see the great commission fulfilled by walking in the freedom and authority the Lord has given us. Now is not the time to be passive. Instead, we must become like soldiers. Gearing up with the armor of God and going to war against the devil and hell by the power of the Blood of Christ and the word of our testimony. We pray you join us on the battlefield.
"Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle."
-Psalm 144:1
